As a brand, Kia is no stranger to accolades. To help drivers in Ventura, Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley, California, get a sense of the quality that’s waiting for them when they’re behind the wheel of a Kia model, Kirby Kia would like to announce that the praise continues with the Strategic Vision 2022 Total Quality Impact Awards and the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards. Read on to find out more.
The vehicles that received top marks for this award were the Kia K5, the Kia Seltos, the Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid, and the Kia Carnival. To choose its winners, the Total Quality Impact report incorporates the vehicle’s quality along with that of driving and owning the vehicle. Reliability and driving excitement are just a couple of the factors that are taken into consideration to determine which model deserves the top spot for each segment.
Each of the above Kia cars won their respective segments. Areas that attracted particular attention in terms of these impressive modes of transportation include comfort, power, and driver-assist features.
The following brief descriptions for the Sorento Plug-In Hybrid, K5, Carnival, and Seltos contain a few highlights that help set them apart. Check them out to find out if one of them has what it takes to be your next on-road companion.
Are you looking for something that can supply you with the necessary oomph to conquer any challenges that might come your way while you’re getting from Point A to Point B? The Kia Seltos has two powertrains from which you can choose. The one that comes standard is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that’s capable of producing 146 horsepower. The available 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine boasts as much as 175 horsepower.
The Kia K5 delivers plenty of accommodating aspects. For instance, there’s the available Wireless Phone Charger that does away with needing to bring a charger cord along for the ride. As soon as a compatible smartphone begins to run low on power, place it on the front console tray and wait for the indicator light to tell you when it’s fully charged.
With its three spacious rows, the Kia Carnival provides each of its occupants with all the wiggle room they need. This is made possible by such generous measurements as the 41.1 inches of legroom in the front, the 39.5 inches of headroom in the middle, and the 59.5 inches of shoulder room in the back.
The Sorento Plug-In Hybrid brings with it such handy driving aides as the Lane Keeping Assist. The fact that it uses corrective steering the moment it senses you are unintentionally drifting out of your lane means it’s sure to be helpful on those occasions when it’s harder to maintain a consistent level of concentration. Kia K5
The Kia Telluride, Kia Sportage, Kia K5, Kia Soul, and Kia Rio have earned awards for having the highest residual value within their segments. At five, this is the highest number of model awards. Kia was also recognized as the most improved mass-market brand year over year.
This award recognizes the models that are expected to retain the highest percentage of their suggested retail price after three years of ownership.
The rugged Kia Telluride and all-electric Kia EV6 have been recognized as 2023 Car and Driver 10 Best Trucks and SUVs. This award for the Telluride marks its fourth time on the list in four years, distinguishing Telluride as one of few vehicles to be named a 10Best Award winner for each year it has been on sale. The 2023 honor for the EV6 is the first win for a Kia electric vehicle on the highly selective 10Best Awards list.
For 2023, the Telluride features new design elements inside and out, highlighted on both the all-new Telluride X-Line and Telluride X-Pro trims, and brings an expanded list of ADAS safety technology for greater peace-of-mind and driver confidence.
The EV6 continues to rise in popularity. The 2023 EV6 delivers jaw-dropping performance, ultra-fast DC charging1 compatibility, onboard power generator2, and a flat-floor interior that utilizes innovative materials throughout the cabin.
This award recognizes the best of what’s for sale for less than the base-price cutoff of $90,000. Between the Telluride and the EV6, Kia has the spectrum of crossovers and SUVs covered for all types of driving enthusiasts.
The 2023 Kia Sportage has been named the Utility Vehicle of the Year in the 2023 AutoGuide Awards, in which AutoGuide editors recognize the best vehicles on the market today.
"The Sportage is a Kia icon, but it’s been elevated to new heights after its significant overhaul for the 2023 model year,” said Steven Center, COO and EVP, Kia America. “We’re humbled the esteemed editors at AutoGuide have recognized how much thought we put into improving the Sportage and expanding the model line with HEV and PHEV powertrains.”
The 2022 Kia EV6 was named “Best of the Year” in the 41st annual MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards. The Kia EV6 beat out a dozen top vehicles for the “Best of the Year” title.
The EV6 was also awarded “Best EV” alongside three other top electric vehicles. Kia’s first dedicated EV continues to earn accolades a year after launch.
